Discharge from CGH

Upon my discharge, I was given an open date, but I was told to go to NCC for my follow-up.

My discharge summary noted that I had a fracture on my right 7th rib, which CGH thought could be due to the metastases. I could not recall bumping into anything that could cause the fracture and subsequent scans at NCC showed no metastases on that particular rib. I could only guess that that rib was fractured during the coop loop procedure as I was in a lot of discomfort from my flooded throat and could not hold still.

I had also been told that they had found cancer cells in the fluid culture.

It also stated that after the procedure, 'no immediate complications were encountered'. I called Dr K to clarify this and mentioned that I had passed out when back in the ward. He denied that I had passed out and had actually been sedated. I was not aware if Dr K was present during the incident and saw no point in arguing further and closed the subject.
