My medical oncologist referred me to a radiologist regarding my spine.
The radiologist recommended radiotherapy for my spine and an MRI on the thoracic spine was arranged for 11 Jan 2012, to determine the area where radiotherapy was to be administered.
According to comments of the MRI results :
1. Multiple scattered enhancing marrow lesions, suspicious for vertebral metastases, are seen at various level in cervical - neck area - (body of C2-7, spinous process of C6), thoracic (body of T1-T12, spinous process of T2-T12), and in L1, L2 vertebrae.
2. Mild loss of height with posterior cortical bulge of body of C3 and T7 vertebrae, indenting the thecal sac but no significant cord compression. Mild posterior bulge without cord compression is also noted in L1 vertebra.
3. Minimal epidural soft tissue is noted posteriorly in relation to neural arch of T3 vertebra without cord compression.
4. Bilateral pleural effusion is noted.
5. Intervertebral discs are normal.
In short, my spinal column was badly affected and in really bad shape that the radiologist warned me not to exert myself in case I fracture my spine and become unable to walk. And, I have also become shorter.
